In 1995, just out of the Culinary Institute of American in Hyde Park, New York, Jamie began his career working as a line cook and later as the sous chef at the old Forager House in Washington's Crossing, Pennsylvania.

From there he traveled south to Coral Gables, Florida where he was part of the team that renowned chef, Norman van Aken employed to open his self-named restaurant, Norman's.

In 1996 he was hired as the head chef at the Stockton Inn in Stockton, New Jersey.

Then from 1997 to 1999, Jamie cooked at the Harvest Moon Inn in Ringoes, New Jersey.

In 1999 Jamie opened his own restaurant in Doylestown. The Knight House became the place where Jamie fine-tuned his culinary skills and learned the ropes of restaurant management.

After selling the Knight House in 2004, Jamie took some time off. But not for long. He began to see that people were spending more time at home and wanted to entertain there. Why not provide professional, chef-quality, gourmet meals that they could take home?

So in 2005 Jamie opened Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods and Catering - a place where people can get really wonderful dishes, prepared by a professional chef for dining at home.
